ADWAVE had started in 1997 with only ‘Malaysia Best Advertisement’ exhibition (Classic Advertisements from New Straits Times) as well as Kancil Award Winning Advertisements Exhibition.
Creative Advertisements Competition was organized since 1998 until now.
With great support from our sponsors, the Social Campaign Competition was carried out in ADWAVE 2002. While in ADWAVE 2003, Point-of-Sales Design Competition (In-Store Communication Competition) was held.
Since 2002,
participations in ADWAVE include those from ASEAN countries, including
students from Thailand and Singapore. Students from Bangkok University,
Thailand became winners for creative print advertisements competition in
ADWAVE 2002 and ADWAVE 2003.
The Star Publications (M) Sdn Bhd became our official press for two years since ADWAVE 2002.
The press releases were only published in The Star and Berita Kampus (USM print medium) in 2002. However, the media coverage for ADWAVE 2003 had extended to other print media such as Berita Mingguan, Utusan Melayu, Nanyang Siang Pau, Guang Ming Daily, China Press, Sin Chew Jit Poh, Kwang Wah Yit Poh, New Straits Times and the electronic media. For publicity purposes, the project director of ADWAVE 2003 also appeared in MHI (Malaysia Hari Ini), a programme shown in TV3.
