Beginning 2009, the Journal of Construction in Developing Countries (JCDC) will be giving out one award each in the following two categories:
- Annual Best Paper Award
- Annual Commendable Paper Award
For both, the winners will receive Certificates of Award. Details of award winners will be published in the journal. Winners will be shortlisted and chosen based on the following criteria:
- Originality. The paper should add new knowledge. It could be conceptual or empirical in nature. It should not be repeated what is already known.
- Readability. The paper must be easily understood by the readers. It should be concise, clear and easily understood.
- Relevance to the construction industry in developing countries.
Papers will be short listed by the Editors-In-Chief for final selection by a Panel of Judges drawn from members of JCDC’s International Editorial Board. The Editors-In-Chief are:

The decisions of the Editors-In-Chief and Panel of Judges concerning award winners will be final.
