Publishing and Distributing Translation Books Should be Commercialized for Efficiency
Emeritus Professor Abdullah Hassan is a Distinguished Scholar in the Faculty of Languages and Communication, of Sultan Idris University of Education. He is the current President of Malaysian Translators Association and an Adviser to PTS Publications and Distributors Pte. Ltd. He has translated nine books from English into Malay and three from Malay into English. In addition to writing many books on language and linguistics, he has also written a book entitled "Translation Techniques."

Graduate Level in Translation Studies in Thailand: Challenges and Strategies

Professor Thanomnuan O’charoen is Professor of German, German Section, Department of Western Languages and Director of Chalermprakiat Centre of Translation and Interpretation, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. She is an Executive Member of The Thai-German Cultural Foundation in Bangkok and Member of the IVG ( International Association for Germanic Studies). Her main research interests include German literature of the 20th Century, the theory of literary criticism, the theory of literary translation and the relation between translation theory and the practice of translation. She is author of The Translation of Goethes The Sorrow of Young Werther into Thai: A Case Study of  The Translation Processes and Problems of Prose Translation from German into Thai.(Publishing  Centre of the Faculty of Arts, 2005). She is translator of The Castle, The Metamorphosis, The Judgement and other short stories of German author Franz Kafka into Thai.

Translating a Comic as an Adaptation of a Novel from French into Bahasa Indonesia

Professor Rahayu Surtiati Hidayat is Professor of applied linguistics and foreign language teaching & translation in the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia. Her research is about the use of Bahasa Indonesia: “Penulisan dan Gender” (Makara Seri Sosial dan Humaniora Vol 8, No. 2, April 2004), and about translation, “Traduire pourquoi et pour qui?”  (Le Banian 8, December 2009). She translated more than 30 books in social sciences and humanities, but she likes to translate comics too.
