OBJECTIVES

The whole program can be divided into three phases. The specific objectives of each phase are as follows:

PHASE 1:

  1. To generate the profiles of high risk motorists among USM students.
  2. To strategically plan for specific intervention programs to cater for the subgroup of young high risk motorists based on data derived from the research project.
  3. To conduct field observation to objectively measure the number of traffic offenses occurred within USM main campus.


PHASE 2:

  1. To implement public communication campaign: “Kempen RakanTrafik@USM” targeting young motorists and their peer groups in Universiti Sains Malaysia.
  2. To implement specific intervention programs for the young high risk motorists using various group and interpersonal communication activities.

PHASE 3:

  1. To evaluate on the effectiveness of the Kempen RakanTrafik@USM among young motorists in USM using Impact Recall Information Survey (IRIS) and field observation.
  2. To implement post intervention tracking system to measure the effectiveness of intervention program among high risk motorists.
