Flight to Penang.
Please take note that most international
travelers will fly to Penang via Kuala Lumpur. Immigration clearance is at
Kuala Lumpur International Airport. We would advise for participants to
check their bag (s) through to Penang. International direct flights to
Penang are available through Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore. Immigration
clearance for these flights is at the Penang Airport.
E. Foreign
Exchange and ATMs
You will find a foreign exchange bureau (Maybank)
after the Custom clearance at the Penang Airport or if you miss that, you
can go–up to the first floor (the departure level) where there are two
foreign exchange bureaus (Bumiputera-Commerce and Maybank) next to each
other.
Foreign exchange is also available at the
hotel and at the banks within the University.
Major credit cards are widely accepted at
hotels, restaurants and shops, with some that only receive credit card
payment for purchase of at least RM30.
F. Languages
Spoken
As a multicultural country, Malay, Chinese,
Indian and English are widely spoken. Nearly all of the hotel staff are able
to speak English.
G. Electric
Outlets
The electricity is supplied at 240 volts and
