What is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)?

     

  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is about how organizations put up their effort to produce an overall positive impact on society hoping that these organisations’ voluntary decision would shape a better society and environment.Nowadays, the CSR is growing and there are emerging needs for these CSR efforts especially towards preserving the environment.CSR aims are to gain benefits for all stakeholders.Certainly, organisation will plan, develop and implement their CSR efforts, and will play their role in getting these efforts executed successfully as well as continue to help organisations getting their core CSR messages out to the media.University members including staff, academicians and students have an important stake in facing the growth of CSR demand and challenges.It is also crucial for the organisation to provide ways of communicating to all stakeholders what the organisation is trying to contribute in their CSR initiatives.

 

What is University Social Responsibility (USR)?

     

  • 1) USR is a concept the university takes that includes all necessary steps to improve quality of life for all its employees and their families, students, faculty, and the local community as well as society by focusing on its three main bottom lines such as research of education, society and environment.

  • 2) USR is about the activities done by university to create awareness among people which may also include those related to environment.
  •  

  • 3) USR is about the university’s commitment in making a positive, distinctive and measurable impact on society such as :
  •  

-To provide benefits to public through education and research 
-To actively disseminate knowledge and expertise 
-To maintain high ethical standards 
-To promote and practice environmental sustainability 
-To act as a good corporate citizen, generating enthusiasm, pride and partnership to communities and stakeholders.
