 Scholarship and Loan Fund for Pharmacy Students

 

Pharmacy students who need financial aids can apply for the following scholarships:

 

Pfizer Scholarship RM5,000
Guardian Pharmacy Scholarship RM5,000
Sanofi Winthrop Scholarship RM5,500
Glaxo Welcome Scholarship RM5,500
Chemical Company of Malaysia (CCM) Scholarship RM5,500
Y S & Lin Scholarship RM5,500
JC Chemist RM6,000

Sanofi Winthrop and Glaxo Welcome Scholarships are for the entire pharmacy course whereas Pfizer and Guardian Pharmacy Scholarships are yearly scholarships.

These scholarships are open to all students and selection is based on academic achievements, family financial background and involvement in the co-curriculum activities.

School of Pharmaceutical Sciences also has its own Student Loan Fund open to students in temporary financial difficulties. Detailed information on this Loan Fund can be obtained from the Assistant Registrar of the School.

Medal and Book Prize for Pharmacy Students

Royal Award made by the Malaysian Rulers Council and Chancellor's Gold Medal are the general award open to all students in this university. In addition, pharmacy students can also win the following prizes:

Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society Medal (MPS)

to one final year student who is best academically and most outstanding in extra curricular activities

USM Book Prize by Ciba-Geigy (M) Sdn. Bhd.

to one final year student who is best in Clinical Pharmacy

USM Book Prize by Alumni Pharmacy Society

to one final year student who is best in Physiology

Glaxo Book Prize

to one final year student who is best in Pharmaceutical Technology and one best in Pharmacology

MPTMA Book Prize

to one final year student who is best in Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Selection of candidate for all these awards is made by the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences based on the achievement of the candidate for the graduating year.
