From a humble beginning in the year 2000, Life Sciences Postgraduate Conference had traveled quite a distance after following the success of the 2nd and 3rd Life Sciences Postgraduate Conferences that were held in the year 2004 and 2006. Our aim has always been the same, to be the platform for local graduate students to share and discuss their respective findings. Each conference brought more and more attention and awareness towards Life Sciences Postgraduate Conferences event, not only to the regional universities, but also universities from around the globe.

Now, in the year 2008, the organizing committee from School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Biological Sciences and School of Industrial Technology are proud to continue the tradition and bring you the Life Sciences Postgraduate Conference for the fourth time around with the theme “Life Sciences: Harmonizing Civilization, Environment and Technology”.

The Life Sciences Postgraduate Conference will be held in parallel with two other university conferences, namely the Penang International Conference for Young Chemists and the Health and Medical Sciences Postgraduate Conference under the wings of the Penang International Postgraduate Convention. The organizing committees of the three conferences will work independently ensure the smooth-running of their individual conferences while go hand-in-hand to make this convention a success.

It is believed that this conference will become the ideal dais for sharing of latest findings and in search of a broader correlation perspective of various fields such as pharmaceutical, environmental sciences, food industrial and biotechnology. This conference can offer many participant and researches from around the world to trade and share their knowledge, ideas and experiences.
