OTHER REGULATIONS TO BE COMPLIED WITH

1.        Fixing Notice

Any notice / announcement / sticker may only be fixed on provided notice boards. Fixing and sticking any inappropriate picture / poster are prohibited. (e.g. singers or artists posters)

2.        Room Neatness and Tidiness

Each resident student is responsible for the cleanliness of his/her own room at all times. All equipments (e.g. light, fan, window glass) and furniture (e.g. closet, bed, table, locker) in the room should always be clean and well-conditioned. Each room will be provided with a waste bin, dustpan and broom. Please ensure that those things are placed in the room while the garbage is not swept out into the corridor. Please ensure that the garbage is thrown into the large waste bin provided at each floor, before 8.30 a.m. daily.

3.        Shoes / slippers at corridor

In ensuring the corridor is clean and facilitating the pathway during emergency, students are required to put those items in the room. Should they remain outside the room (particularly shoes / slippers), they will be confiscated without prior notice.

4.        Dress Code

All resident students are reminded to comply with the dress code fixed by BHEPP USM.

5.        Parking Regulation

Resident students are required to park their vehicles orderly and complying with the traffic regulation. Action will be taken against those who park their vehicle disorderly.

6.        Energy Saving

Resident students are advised to save electricity. Please ensure that the ceiling fan and light switches are switched off when not in use or if you are about to leave the room. The main light is only allowed until 12 midnight. After that, the light should be switched off and should anybody want to use light, only table lamp is allowed.

7.        Iron and Kettle

Should the iron / kettle is damage due to negligence of the residents, purposely or accidentally, the charge of repair will go to them or all the resident students of the floor.

8.        Drying the Clothes

Please ensure that the clothes are hung on provided clothes-line only such as the lines outside each block. The clothes hung on the line other than the provided one will be confiscated and penalty will be imposed. Do not hang the clothes on the room window.

9.        Food, Cigarette and Other Items Selling

Any food, cigarette, compact disc etc. selling activity inside the hostel building is strongly prohibited.

10.        Sanitary Napkins

Please ensure that the sanitary napkins are thrown away into provided sanitary bin. Throwing away into toilet bowl will cause the toilet and manhole clogged up, distracting the residents comfort.

11.        Garbage and Leftovers

Please ensure that the garbage is thrown away into the provided waste bin. The leftovers should be tied up inside the plastics, glass substances are packed in paper while cigarette stubs should be extinguished before throwing away into the waste bin.

12.        Room Key

Please ensure that you lock your room and bring the key along upon leaving the room. Penalty will be imposed for borrowing the key from Residence Office.

Borrowing the key          : RM3 (office hour)
                                       : RM5 (after office hour)
Losing the key                : RM7 (per key)
Key Tag                          : 3 times of purchase price


13.        Curtain

Please ensure that the room curtain is not out of the window or being folded /knotted or as such. The residents are also prohibited from removing and taking out the curtain from the room for other purposes. Damages will be imposed if the curtain is lost.


14.        Smoking Ban

The USM Campus has been gazetted as No-Smoking Area. Therefore, students are not allowed to smoke inside the campus area including hostel vicinity. Action will be taken against students if they are found violating the regulation without prior notice.


15.        Lift

Penalty of RM50 will be imposed against those who are found misusing the lift (e.g. scribbling the lift) or they might be dispelled from the hostel or both.

ROOM CHEERFULNESS

1.        Do not fix or stick any inappropriate picture/photo. (e.g. singers, artists etc.)
Penalty : RM20

2.        Each resident is responsible for keeping the room clean and tidy. Mattress and pillows should always be covered with sheet.
Penalty : RM20

3.        All equipments (e.g. light, fan, window glass) and furniture (e.g. closet, bed, table, locker) in the room should always be clean and well-conditioned and free from cobweb and dirt. The residents are also prohibited from dirtying / damaging any hostel equipment.
Penalty : RM20

4.        Each room will be provided with a waste bin, dustpan and broom. Please ensure that those things are placed in the room while the garbage is not swept out into the corridor.
Penalty : RM20

5.        Please ensure that the garbage is thrown into the large waste bin provided at each floor, before 8.30 a.m. daily.
Penalty : RM20

Should the things remain outside the room (particularly shoes / slippers), they will be confiscated without prior notice (each resident is allowed to keep two pairs of shoes only).
Penalty : RM5 for each pair of shoes/slipper confiscated.
