1. The synthesis and characterization of alkoxy silanes from silica based minerals and RHA and RH.
2. The isolation of silica from rice husk using solution extraction.
3. The adsorption studies of fatty acids on rice husk silica and its modified variety.
4. Chemical modification of RHA silica for the adsorption of carotenoid from crude palm oil.
5. The adsorption of carotene with RHA and the metal modified RHA.
6. The catalytic activity of RHA and metal modified RHA.
7. The synthesis of organosilyl esters using triphenylsilanol and amino acids

Some interesting topics currently being undertaken by my students are:
1. The synthesis of silyl esters using triphenyl silanol and amino acids.
2. The extraction of silica from rice husk (RH) and rice husk ash (RHA).
3. The synthesis and characterization of RHA-M (M = Co(II), Ni(II), V(V), Cr(III) etc.)
4. The catalytic activity of RH/RHA and RH/RHA-M (M = metal).
5. The evaluation and determination of the physical parameters for the extraction of silica from rice husk.
6. Adsorption of fatty acids on rice husk ash silica chemically modified with transition metals.
