The wooden dagger and 'kain sibai' (a scarf) are specifically for the Peran. Whereas, the 'rotan berai' (strands of odd numbered canes) is for the Pak Yong. These props have varying functions. For example, the wooden dagger to depict either an umbrella, a pencil, paddle and various other theatrical needs. The manipulation of these props depends on the virtuosity of the characters which includes only the Pak Yong and Peran. Props are not to be taken literally, they represent various objects to be improvised by the Peran or the Pak Yong.
