The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences is well equipped for students to carry out their research work. There are also sufficient personal computers to cater for the needs of students. The laboratories are divided according to the various disciplines.

The Media & Technology Education Center offers students many electronic and electrical devices such as video cameras, cameras and so on for research and academic purposes.

USM also offers two of the best libraries in South East Asia (http://www.lib.usm.my/). It is sufficiently stocked with books and various sources of information pertaining to the courses taught. The libraries boasts computerized catalogue system that is both practical and user friendly. In order to access information from foreign libraries, the libraries provide inter-library book exchange.

Other facilities in USM include a computer laboratory, banks, pharmacy, health clinic and other retail and community stores.

In short, USM provides students with all the necessary tools for obtaining the best education possible and to help sharpen students' skills and unleash their true potential.

Recreational Activities:

In realizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle, the university has invested much in its Sports Center. This center provides outdoor sports facilities such as an Olympic size swimming pool, a synthetic running track with complete track and field equipment, three soccer pitch, two hockey pitch, an astro-turf hockey stadium, a rugby pitch and a softball pitch. There are also sixteen all-weather tennis courts, two handball/netball pitch, four volleyball courts, three basketball courts and six sepaktakraw courts. There is also a designated location for archery. As for the indoor facilities, there are six badminton courts, a gymnasium for aerobics and six squash courts.

There are also many student societies that actively engage in many activities. These clubs and societies cover a wide range of interests ranging from music to politics and anthropology to women's studies. The Pharmacy Students Society is one the most active in USM. Some of its yearly activities include Pharmacy Week and Convocation exhibition, which are aimed at exposing the public to the role of pharmacy in healthcare. Recently, the society hosted the 2nd South East Asian Pharmaceutical Students' Society Congress, which was attended by students from this region, as well as distinguished academicians from overseas.
