All the equipments, props and set displayed on stage during the performance are elements that are capable of captivating the audience. The decorative curtain and side-wing, costumes and set are given detail and attention. These are evident in its material, composition and colours especially those belonging to established Bangsawan groups. Its display brings the audience back the era where the story happened. Groups that are less established, operating on a small budget will not display and use elaborated equipments. According to Mahmud Jun, former Bangsawan actor, these group are categorised as offering ‘village theatre’ because it is performed only in the outskirts and remote areas. Their performance are usually held on temporary stage.
